Chocolate Fun

If you don't want your child to take a nap or go to bed on time then this craft is the one for you and your kid(s)! I'm only slightly kidding. I have no proof that Gage wouldn't go to sleep because of this but he sure was a wild man until about 9:30pm.

We ventured out to Louisville a few days ago. Our destination was Coco's Chocolate Cafe. The name of the place alone could probably tell you that your kid was going to leave here on a sugar high that lasts 7 hours. Seriously, though, what a cute place and they have delicious chocolate!

On to the chocolate craft fun!

First a white chocolate bar was laid out in front of us along with about 5 different colors of food coloring in little cups and paint brushes. This is really simple. Just have your kid(s) paint on the food coloring or you can be like Gage and by the end just dump the whole entire red food coloring on the bar! I tell you its fun stuff.

Next up on the chocolate craft fun is making chocolate lollipops. Its a pretty easy process, too. Just pour dark or milk chocolate into molds(I'm sure you can get creative on what you use for a mold). The add a little stick for the handle. Next put your filled molds in the freezer for about 10 minutes or until its hard. When you take the mold out of the freezer turn it upside down and gently tap it on the table. The lollipops should drop right out.

If you haven't had enough chocolate and mess at this point then continue on to a nice tasty fondue treat!

Put milk chocolate and dark chocolate in a bowl(or seperate bowls might be easier). Put out bowls of strawberries, marshmallows, and rice crispie treats. You can always change that up with apples, bananas or whatev. Endless dipping possibilities.

There you have it! What a nice day for Gage(and for mom who stuffed her face just as much!).

Just a little tip: Wear old clothes you never want to wear again. The food coloring stained our clothes. I was totally wearing my favorite jeans. Oh well, atleast I got a shopping trip out of the deal.
