Frozen Fun

I froze one of Gage's bath toys.

On purpose.

Now what kind of mommmy would do that to her childs bath toy? Probably a mean mommy. Can you imagine if I froze all of his bath toys? I didn't I only froze 1. It was for...science. Well, it wasn't really science because Gage isn't old enough to know what the heck science is but I suppose it could be sciencey if you didn't have a little babe.

Gage had fun with his frozen toy. So did my niece who is staying the week with us. I showed them how it doesn't float like the colorful duckies. I showed them that the bath water is 'hot' and the ice is cold and when you put the two together the ice melts. Seriously though, they are 23 months and 4(She will be 4 on Saturday!) so they just thought it was neat-o to find the frozen toy underneath all the bubbles.

They loved it so much I froze another toy for the next nights bath.

Want to freeze a toy? Its easy. Do you really need instructions? Hah. Oh well, here you go!

You just need a paper cup, a toy, water, and a freezer. Freeze the toy overnight. The next time you give your kid a bath peel the paper cup away and there you go! Have fun!

I used to freeze my toys on purpose when I was a kid...particularly GI Joe's... maybe I had an affinity for ice back then...

Nice idea. I'm going to try that the next time I give my 2-year-old a bath.

I think we'll do this for tomorrow night's bath. Thanks!

My son is 8 and I still think he'd have fun with that. I may have to try that as a fun way to cool him off when it becomes unbearably hot this summer.

Ohh, we did this as kind of a treasure hunt with beads in the ice, but I never thought of putting it in the bathtub!
