Yeehaw Guitar

Now that I'm living in the South again I thought it was time to introduce Gage to some guitar pickin'. I think its something every little growing country boy needs to know. After all, Nashville is only 2 and 1/2 hours away. In this craft we have a guest-maker. Ambur is the one helping Gage through out while I am snapping pictures(for the most part. I did step 7 and all I can say is ouch!).

Guitar

Materials:
Cereal Box
Brown Contruction Paper
Black Contruction Paper
Any Color Contruction Paper
Glue
Crayons
Pipe Cleaners
Scissors
Paper Towel Roll

Directions:
Step 1: Glue the brown construction paper onto the cereal box. Your little one can help with that part.
Step 2:Have your little one color on the cereal box.
Step 3: While they are doing that wrap&glue the any color paper around the paper towel roll.
Step 4: Cut slits on the paper towel roll.
Step 5: Cut a circle out of the black construction paper and glue it on the cereal box.
Step 6: Cut a hole in the top of the cereal box so the paper towel roll can fit in there&tape the slits down into the inside of the cereal box.
Step 7: Make 8 holes into the cereal box the same size as the pipe cleaners.(be careful here I cut my finger! Ah)
Step 8: Attach the pipe cleaners to the cereal box.

And you are finished! Start the music makin'.

Note: This project would be fun for older kiddos. If you have younger ones like my Gage then I would suggest heading on over to No Time For Flash Cards to make an easier guitar!

That is so cute! I wish I had thought of this before we bought our little girl a very annoying battery-operated guitar. She loves it, but it just might drive me crazy.

that's an awesome guitar! when we were kids (but a bit older than gage) we made ones like that with a kleenex box and rubber bands!

I made one of these guitars and then went and auditioned for Van Halen... they laughed me out of the place and then David Lee Roth ran me over in his Camaro...
