One of goals on my 101 goal list is to read 50 books a year. I was thinking about this and that is 4.2 books a month. That is so not happening for me. I mean I COULD read 4 or 5 books a month but I don't have the money to buy that many books and I haven't made my way to the library here yet(I should get on that. I think it is a goal, too!).
I decided that since I'm pretty much not going to read 50 books a year that is still ok. The goal is just to motivate me to read MORE than what I was reading.
So for this year I have read 1 book! It was Brida by Paulo Coelho. I'm all about some romance novels and while this did have a little bit of a romance aspect to it it really wasn't my kind of book. I bought it and read it anyway. It was on sale! It was a very mystical kind of story. Brida embarked on a journey to become a witch. It had a lot to do with the visible and invisible world.
I have to say that I really did enjoy it. I'm not looking to a witch but I think the story showed how Brida was on a journey to discover herself.
I think anyone can relate to that. I know I can.
So, there is 1 book down. I have 3 more in my room waiting to be devoured. I might read them all this weekend since we might be getting a bit of snow!

ReplyDeleteSeriously invest in a library card! I go on post and then the one in town. Renting books means no money out of your pocket, unless you have late fees!
ReplyDeleteI can spend(days) hours at the library if I could!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine once said, "It's more than you were doing before, which was nothing." One book is far better than where you were, right?
